DriftGauge is a clean, two-part trend-participation plan. Instead of reacting to every wiggle, it first asks a simple question: is price actually walking a straight line, or just wandering in place?
A directness gauge scores the efficiency of the path; a smooth guardrail line confirms the heading. Only when both agree — and the market is active enough — does a participation window open.

Directness gauge (PFE)
Polarized Fractal Efficiency compares the straight-line distance price covered to the actual zig-zag path it walked. Near +100 = a smooth climb; near −100 = a smooth slide; around 0 = messy chop. A cross from below zero to above zero flags a fresh upward heading (and vice-versa).

Guardrail line (TMA)
The Triangular Moving Average is a double-smoothed baseline. We take an up-turn only when this line slopes up, and a down-turn only when it slopes down — filtering crossings that fight the broader drift.
