A fixed-length moving average has one speed, but the market keeps changing gears. MesaFlowPilot rides on the MESA Adaptive Moving Average (MAMA/FAMA) — John Ehlers’ self-tuning line that measures the market’s dominant cycle every bar and adjusts its own smoothing. Turns are then confirmed by the Money Flow Index (MFI) so entries only lean the way real money is leaning.

1Rhythm turn — fast adaptive line (MAMA) crosses the slow one (FAMA): up for long, down for short.
2Flow check — MFI confirms the side (long needs MFI > 42, short needs MFI < 58), so money is not fighting the turn.
3Activity check — ATR ≥ 0.6× its 50-bar average, avoiding dead-zone entries.
4Risk — stop at 1.5×ATR, target at 2.0× the stop distance (RR 2.0), 1% risk per entry, up to 10 entries/day.
