Overview 策略概述
TideCompass does two calm things in strict order. First it reads which way the trend has actually turned using the Aroon Oscillator’s zero-line crossover. Then it only steps in when the market is genuinely flowing that way with ease — confirmed by the Ease of Movement (EMV) indicator sharing the same sign. Two agreeing conditions, one position at a time, ATR-sized protection.

Aroon Oscillator (20)
Measures how recently a new high versus a new low was printed. When the freshest extreme flips from lows to highs, the oscillator crosses zero upward — a new up-course takes the helm (and the reverse for down). That single zero-cross is both the timing and the direction.
Tide-gauge
Ease of Movement / EMV (14)
For each bar it asks: did price travel far on light volume, or crawl on heavy volume? Positive = an easy, flowing tide in our favour; negative = the current is against us. A long is only boarded when EMV is positive; a short only when it is negative.
Neither instrument is a Bollinger band, RSI, CCI, Stochastic, or MACD — TideCompass reads trend onset (Aroon) and travel efficiency (EMV), a pairing designed to sidestep crowded mean-reversion logic.

Execution flow 执行流程
- Read the compass — Aroon Oscillator crosses 0: up = look long, down = look short.
- Check the tide — EMV must share the sign (only an easy flow is allowed).
- Board with the current — enter at market, one position only.
- Set guardrails — stop at 1.5×ATR, target at 1.6×stop (reward-to-risk ≈ 1:1.6).
- Keep discipline — at most 10 boardings per day; a drought watchdog alerts if it sits idle.
